PRACTICAL PISTOL
This is not a milsim game, there's no camo. In fact in all IPSC matches, camoflage clothing is forbidden.
Prac pistol is a competition based event that pits shooters against each other by the tactical elimination of card targets.
No person is to be shot at under any circumstances
It's a lot of fun and its absolutely unparalleled for improving your pistol skills.
The best system we've used before follows the IDPA system, which basically assumes you to be an armed citizen going about your everyday business and are confronted with a hostile situation.
That is to say you would not be carrying SOCOM or similar firearm in a drop leg rig complete with LAM unit. It assumes you would be carrying a pistol such as a Glock, Colt or Sig in a concealable holster on your belt under a light jacket
Search on YouTube for 'IDPA' , 'IPSC' or 'Practical Pistol' for an idea of the format.
We have relaxed the above rules somewhat to allow players to partake using the kit they've got (and not have to spend money on additional holsters etc).
PRACTICAL CARBINE
As above, these sessions are used to improve weapon handling skills and accuracy through static target drills. You don't have to use a true carbine but may find a full-length rifle (e.g. M16 or FAL) a little difficult to manoeuvre.
Again; no person is to be shot at under any circumstances
