GAME RULES

Hit taking:

Airsoft relies on honesty - unlike paintball there is no mark left by airsoft hits. Nothing ruins an airsoft game faster than players not taking hits. Please help us to provide top quality airsoft games by being an honest player. A hit occurs when a BB fired directly from a gun, or launched by a grenade or spring operated trap, strikes a player anywhere about their person or attire.
Gun hits and definite ricochets do count as hits.

When you are hit, shout 'Hit' and raise your hand. Leave the game field keeping your arm raised to indicate to other players that you are out of the game. Do not linger in the game field. When you are hit, do not talk to active players. "Dead men don't talk"

Cheating:

The site does not use formal marshals to enforce the rules
All players are encouraged to discuss any disagreements openly and politely.
Any abusive behaviour, persistent unfounded allegations or heated arguments will be viewed dimly and may result in expulsion from the site.
Other actions which may earn you a warning are: blind firing, goggle lifting (removing protection in the game area), persistent overly aggressive play.

Surrender rules:

We play a 'surrender' or 'bang' rule. If you are likely to shoot a player at very short range, please give them a chance to surrender, or alternatively touch them and say 'bang' - this will count exactly the same as a hit with a BB. It hurts less, and makes you more popular.
Use common sense in the application of this rule - do not try and 'bang' players whom you could quite safely shoot. The surrender rule is best used where you have caught someone completely by surprise and they are, for example, facing the other way.

Grenades and smoke:

BB grenades, thunderflashes and blank firing grenades will count as hit if they explode within 5 metres of you.
If you can get hard cover (like a wall, door or sandbags) between you and the grenade then you are safe. A bush is not hard cover.
Blank firing grenades must only be used with 9mm blanks - 12 gauge blanks are not permitted as they are too loud in confined spaces.
Due to their weight, blank firing grenades should only be thrown underarm - use common sense to avoid injuring other players; it's not a real war.
Coloured smoke has no effect other than obscuring.

Ammo limits:

In order to prevent 'spray-and-pray' tactics which we feel ruin realism and cause games to bog down, we employ an ammo limit of 600-750 rounds per player. Additional ammunition can be collected at appropriate points through the day. This usually means you start the day with 600-750 rounds which is "topped-up" at lunch time.
Players are encouraged to use mid or low capacity magazines, but hi-caps are permitted within the above ammo limits.
Magazines for gas or spring powered pistols do not count toward your allocation of rounds.
Moscart shells, being single shot, do not count toward your allocation of rounds.
Support guns (a large fully automatic weapon such as an M60 or M249) have an ammo limit of 2000 rounds (additional ammunition can be collected at appropriate points through the game).
Infringements to this rule will be counted as cheating.

If you are unclear on any of these rules, or you have any questions about them, just ask one of the organisers. Please put your own and other players safety above any game constraints.

SITE RULES

Arrival and departure:

The site is based on a working farm. Please respect the owners property at all times
When entering and exiting the site, please adhere to a 5mph speed-limit and keep noise to a minimum.
You may encounter roaming live-stock. Please do nothing to interfere, harm or otherwise irritate the sheep/cattle/horses.
It is possible you may encounter a member of the public during a game-day. If this is the case, alert all other players to their presence and cease play immediately. Warning signs are in-place at all possible access points to the land. A site organiser will advise when it is safe to commence play.

Site limits:

Site limit are 350fps for all AEG's, measured with .20g BB's - this is an absolute limit and players are suggested to aim for 328fps when upgrading their AEG's (to allow for a 10% margin of error)
Single action rifles (e.g. sniper rifles) up to 500fps are permitted with a minimum engagement distance (MED) of 15m. If using such a rilfe, you will be asked to gauge a distance while on-site to ensure you are able to accurately a safe engagement distance. All users of bolt-action rifles >350fps must be approved by a site organiser.
All guns will be chronoed each day, with .20g BB's.
Guns that fail by any margin (even 1fps) will not be able to be used.
Velocity reducers are not permitted.
There is no limit to BB weight except for when chronoing.
Any attempt to flout these limits or the minimum engagement distance will result in expulsion from the site.

Safety:

A full safety briefing will be given each and every day - if you have any questions, please ask an organiser who will be happy to help.
Even if you have played many times, and heard the safety briefing over and over, please remain quiet so that the new players around you can hear. It could be you who suffers if you prevent others from hearing the safety rules.
A 'Safe Zone' area is clearly designated area where guns may not be fired under any circumstances.
Prior to entering the safe zone, magazines should be removed, actions cleared and weapons made safe. This includes removal of moscart shells.
Approved safety masks or glasses must be worn at all times entering, leaving and within the play areas. If your own eye protection is not considered appropriate you can be loaned (free of charge) a pair of suitable glasses/goggles. Your eye protection should be on until a site organiser has advised otherwise. 'Goggle lifting' during games is not acceptable. If you are steamed up, speak to a site organiser who will assist you and allow you to return to the game after clearing your goggles safely.
Any discharging of guns in safe areas may result in immediate expulsion.
Only pyrotechnics approved or provided by us can be used on the site. Pyrotechnics (smoke and BB grenades) can only be sold to and used by players aged 18 or over, it's the law. If you are bringing your own pyrotechnics, please check with a site before using them. Homemade or home-modified pyrotechnics are illegal, anyone found to be using such items will be escorted from the site and permanently banned.
Areas of the site of potential risk are out of bounds. These areas will be identified in the safety briefing and marked on the site maps (supplied to each team at the beginning of the day).

Miscellaneous:

We can hire out a limited amount of equipment (AEG, mask/goggles), but insist that all players wear sensible footwear - military boots, walking boots or workwear boots are a must.
Whilst on the site you agree to being photographed, video recorded or having your image captured by any other means. These images may be published and distributed via the internet or in any other medium for promotional purposes.

Player safety and security will always take precedence over gaming.
